My friends J.&J. (are you getting the idea I have a lot of friends/relatives whose names start with J? It's true! It's true!) own property in the Bahamas and live down there about 8 months of the year anymore. She-J is also a member at Trinity. She attends an Anglican church in Freeport when she's down in the Bahamas and is good buddies with Canon B. in Freeport.
She sent me a hilarious bit from her church bulletin that was not really meant to be hilarious, but I will say...only in the Bahamas would this have to be listed on the church bulletin...here 'tis...

But you know, what really stuck out for me was I sure did not see the word "cousin" on there anywhere, heh heh...

As you obviously know...they are well intermarried...the cousins being number one on the ¨hit¨ parade...it´s a Latin American speciality that seems to bloom more brilliantly in the West Indies/Caribbean...there are other, not-so-secret secrets too.
hee, hee, yourself! LOL
Well, and for a little island, folks are incredibly fecund. He-J. likes to listen to "Bahamian talk radio" (certainly not anything close to US "Talk Radio") on the internet when he is back in Missouri, and I remember one of the stations in Freeport had a contest on Father's Day to see who had the most children in Freeport.
The guy who won had like 42 children. I forget which wife he was on, but it still took several mistresses and casual acquaintances to get to that number!
That's in the 1662 BCP.
As far as the West Indian stuff is concerned, often when I am planning a funeral I deal with two sets of family: the official, married family and then the "second family" of the mistress and her children. Sometimes all the children know each other.
Hmmm. I see nothing about he marrying he or she marrying she either but I'll betcha they wouldn't like it.
If they didn't let cousins marry the whole royal family would be on the outs (at least the ones of a few generations ago).
